Sri Dalada Maligawa also called the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in English, is a Buddhist temple located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is situated in the former Kingdom of Kandy's Royal Palace Complex, which also holds the Buddha's tooth relic. Due to the long-standing belief that the person in possession of the relic controls national affairs, the relic has been crucial to local politics since ancient times. In the past, Sinhalese kings owned the relic. The main reasons the temple and the relic make the temple of the tooth a World Heritage Site.

Yala offers several options for luxurious glamping as well as chic and avant-garde boutique hotels, proving that game parks don't have to be all dirt and muck. Stop in Buduruwagala on way to witness the highest Buddha statue carved out of rock in Sri Lanka. We recommend shortening your travel duration and going directly to Galle, the hub of Sri Lanka's boutique industry, if you're not into game parks.
