Sri Dalada Maligawa also called the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in English, is a Buddhist temple located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is situated in the former Kingdom of Kandy's Royal Palace Complex, which also holds the Buddha's tooth relic. Due to the long-standing belief that the person in possession of the relic controls national affairs, the relic has been crucial to local politics since ancient times. In the past, Sinhalese kings owned the relic. The main reasons the temple and the relic make the temple of the tooth a World Heritage Site.
Royal Botanic Garden is well known for its orchid collection. More than 4000 different plant species can be found in the garden, including palm trees, spices, orchids, and medicinal plants.
